Horizon Europe EIC-Pathfinder Project TECHNO-CLS: "Emerging technologies for crystal-based gamma-ray light sources"
The TECHNO-CLS project aims to achieve a breakthrough in the technologies needed for the design and practical realisation of novel gamma-ray Light Sources (LS) operating at photon energies from ~100 keV up to the GeV range, which can be constructed by exposing oriented crystals (linear, bent and periodically bent) to the beams of ultra-relativistic charged particles.
The aim of the workshop is to bring together the members of the TECHNO-CLS consortium and industry to develop and commercialise the Crystal-based Light Sources (CLS) technology, to strengthen links with companies interested in this technology and its applications, and to engage with key stakeholders in the future development of CLS. Private companies are expected to participate in the workshop, with a focus on companies interested in CLS commercialisation, the manufacture of commercially viable CLS and the application of CLS.
The Workshop is the third meeting with stakeholders following the previous TECHNO-CLS workshops held in Ferrara, Italy (October 5-6, 2023) and in Rethymno, Crete, Greece (October 09-10, 2024). The upcoming workshop will take place in Bremerhaven, Germany. The meeting is organized by the MBN Research Center.
Venue
The workshop will be held at the ATLANTIC Hotel Sail City (see photo of the hotel above, copyright "ATLANTIC Hotels"). The address of the venue is ATLANTIC Hotel Sail City, Am Strom 127568 Bremerhaven, Germany.
The hotel is only a few minutes (2 km) away from the Bremerhaven Central Train Station (Bremerhaven Hauptbahnhof) by taxi or bus routes 502, 505, 506, 508, 509 (towards “Langen/Debstedt” or “H.-Plett-Straße”; get off at the “Havenwelten” stop) and the bus route HL ("Hafen-Liner", towards "Rotersand/Thünen-Institut", get off at the "Havenwelten" stop).
Travel Information
The Bremerhaven Central Station can be reached by train from Bremen (30-40 minutes) or Hamburg (2 hours).
Direct flights to Bremen are available from Frankfurt, London Stansted, Heraklion, Amsterdam, Munich, Vienna and Zürich. From most of other cities, there are indirect flights to Bremen.
There are more direct flights to Hamburg.
